My name is Cristiano Carchidi

I am a certified Italian teacher for foreigners. Born in December 1986 in Serra San Bruno, a small town in a mountain area of Calabria. Raised in Soverato, a village on the Ionian sea, where I completed my primary and secondary education.

My studies

I obtained my Bachelor and Master degrees in Philosophy at the Sapienza University of Rome. Although I loved and I still love the city of Rome, I decided to move and to enjoy a new experience in another great European city. Therefore, in the summer of 2013 I moved to Amsterdam, where I currently live. 

Becoming an Italian teacher

In Amsterdam, I’ve completed an internship as an assistant teacher at the Italian Institute of Culture, and obtained the Ditals certification (Certificazione di Competenza in Didattica dell’Italiano a Stranieri). From that moment on, teaching became my passion and my job. Hence, I decided to start a private company with the aim of teaching Italian one-to-one live, and online.

Italian Teacher today

By teaching Italian for more than 7 years now, I had the fortune of meeting amazing students from many different countries. What I try do to is to create a relationship with the student that allows us to work together in a very flexible and easygoing way.

My goal is to inspire and keep my students motivated and engaged while learning Italian. Although it is obviously very important to build up the language skills, the student’s main aim is to be able to communicate in Italian.
